Trailfinders opens 38th branch amid coronavirus ‘baptism of fire’

Staff at the new branch of Trailfinders have been facing a “baptism of fire” since opening this month as impact of the coronavirus has left the travel industry in crisis.

The tailor-made specialist opened its 38th store in Winchester on March 9.

Trailfinders, which has been trading for 50 years, also has plans to open another branch in Solihull later this year.

Ben Gibbons, who has been made general manager at the Winchester branch, said the agency’s trust account model would stand it in good stead during the coronavirus crisis.

He said: “It has certainly been a baptism of fire, becoming a general manager in the midst of unprecedented travel disruption – after this I will be able to cope with anything.

“While we are facing uncertain times travel-wise, I know that Trailfinders is in a strong position with our financial guarantee, and we’re already looking forward to our clients coming back to book their holidays.”
