Tribute paid to agent Cassie Hayes two years after her murder

The former partner of murdered Tui travel agent Cassie Hayes has posted a tribute to her on the second anniversary of her death.

Andrew Burke killed Cassie with a knife as she worked in her travel agency in Southport, Merseyside.

Cassie died in hospital after the attack at lunchtime on January 13, 2018.

Burke, who admitted the murder, had wanted revenge because she had dated his ex-fiancee Laura Williams.

When he struck he was already awaiting sentencing for harassing Laura, mother of his child, and was being investigated for harassing Cassie.

Leah McDonald, who was Cassie’s partner, paid tribute to her on Facebook, The Sun reported. The couple had a daughter, Ruby, who is now six.

The 33-year-old wrote: “Out of all the people I’ve met in my life you are and always will be my favourite of them all.

“A million memories if not more we shared…all locked away safe in my heart, apart from three of my most precious ones I keep in my head: the day I met you, the birth of our amazing little girl and the day I lost you.

“How I’ve managed to survive, not just one year, but now two, without you is beyond me.

“But no matter how much I may want to give up on life a certain little lady of ours needs me and I promise you this for as long as I am on this earth…there will never be a day that goes by that your name will go unsaid between Ruby and I.

“You will never ever be forgotten by your little gummy bear. Me and mini miss love you forever and always. #themissingpiece”.
