TrekAmerica Travel to be integrated into Exodus Travels

TrekAmerica Travel is to be integrated into sister tour operator Exodus Travels following an internal restructure by parent group Travelopia.

Managing director Richard Hanson and international business development manager Toby Baxter have left the business and “some roles”  have been made redundant.

Travelopia Adventure and Exodus managing director Sam Seward said a “significant number” of the core TrekAmerica team had already moved across to Exodus in October. Both brands already share offices in Surbiton, London.

TrekAmerica will continue to trade as normal but from January its Grand American Adventures brand will be absorbed into Exodus as a sub-brand, selling specialist, expert-led north America tours. Its trips will be integrated into the Exodus’ portfolio.

All holidays already booked with Grand American Adventures remain secure, the company said. Customers and supplier partners are currently being contacted to explain the new relationship with Exodus.

Seward said: “The TrekAmerica brand is the celebrated and trusted home for some phenomenal and iconic tours.

“The whole Exodus team is excited about the potential synergies and opportunity offered by integrating the Trek business into our global adventure operation.

“With new investment in our marketing, technology, commercial and trade-facing team, we expect to see the excellent growth achieved by Exodus replicated at both Trek and GAA.”

He said the move was part of a “wider simplification” of Travelopia brands and its portfolio structure to ensure “we better leverage our technology and back office investments and keep delivering first class American adventures”.
