Tui re-introduces winter Sharm flights from Edinburgh

New flights to Sharm el-Sheikh from Edinburgh have been added by Tui as part of the re-introduction of holidays to the Red Sea resort.

A total of 10,000 seats will be available to the Egyptian destination from the Scottish airport for winter 2020-21.

Weekly Monday flights will operate from November 2, 2020, with the Edinburgh programme initially featuring four hotels on sale from today (Tuesday).

Tui is reintroducing holidays to Sharm El Sheikh from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester airports from February.

Tui UK & Ireland aviation planning director Karen Switzer said: “Earlier this month Tui announced its winter 2020 and summer 2021 holiday programme which has since expanded with more destinations and added flights.

“We are delighted that the additional flights provide holidaymakers departing from our regional airports with even more choice when deciding where to go away.

“With additional flying capacity and more than 1,000 hotels already on sale for summer 2021 it gives those planning ahead the opportunity to choose the most suitable airport, destination and hotel.

“This additional growth to Sharm el-Sheikh from Edinburgh demonstrates our continued commitment for people to discover their smile with us.”

Edinburgh airport chief executive Gordon Dewar added: “It’s great to see Sharm El Sheikh return to the destination list at Scotland’s busiest airport and provide yet more choice for our passengers, something we always look to deliver.

“Sharm El Sheikh has long been a popular destination with holidaymakers and this service with Tui will offer both winter and summer sun options for people.”

Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada will be offered from Glasgow airport next winter with weekly flights from November 4.

An expanded winter 2020 programme to the Canary Islands from Glasgow features new weekly flights to Fuerteventura and additional services to Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
