The Queen is advertising for a ‘travel agent’ with a salary of up to £85,000 a year.
The position of director of Royal travel includes leading a small team organising travel for the official duties of the Royal family and their households.
The role is described as “critical to ensuring that the Royal household operates and purchases safe, efficient, cost effective and appropriate travel services”.
Responsibilities include organising air travel and overseeing operations of the Queen’s helicopter flights, use of scheduled train services and the Royal train.
The successful candidate will be required to “ensure planning and procedures are highly effective, researching and negotiating value for money contracts and options for travel, while understanding and recommending best industry practice in risk and safety management”.
They will be expected to “also liaise with the relevant authorities to provide advice and recommendations on travel, taking into account security, safety and environmental considerations”.
The starting salary of up to £85,000 a year involves working 37.5 hours a week on a flexible basis, according to the vacancy posting on LinkedIn.
