Kuoni introduces Australian rail trip and wildlife tours

Kuoni’s new Discover Australia and New Zealand brochure has added a trip on The Ghan railway and new wildlife tours.

Following the popularity of BBC Two’s Great Australian Railway Journeys with Michael Portillo, the tour operator has introduced a suggested route on the famous Ghan train from Darwin, with the option to add a stay at Kangaroo Island.

New wildlife options are on the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ pages in the brochure and include a luxury Kangaroo Island tour and a whale shark excursion in Exmouth.

The brochure features new layouts with spreads for ‘glamping’ holidays and ‘cultural icons’.

Tours of the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the National Anzac Centre are new additions to the cultural icons range.

The collection also has a strong focus on unique experiences such as Bruce Munro’s Field of Light at Uluru.

There will be a dedicated Australia fam trip for Kuoni’s personal travel experts at the end of November, followed by an Australia Expert training day December 3.

Meanwhile, in New Zealand, suggested self-drive tours showcase the highlights of the North and South Islands.

Kuoni also works closely with partners, AAT Kings, THL Motorhomes and Journey Beyond to curate tailor-made itineraries.

A Sydney to Melbourne self-drive tour costs from £2,237 for 12 nights, including room-only accommodation, car hire and flights from London with Qantas.

Tom Waite, Discover product manager, said: “We have included our favourite things to do with signposts to suggested itineraries and tried and tested routes from our experts. It is also a great conversation tool for travel agents, making it easier to tailor the itineraries to suit each customer.”
