Tui recruits ex-Thomas Cook security chief

Tui Group has appointed a former Thomas Cook director as its head of safety and security.

Marc Jordan, who was group director of health, safety, security and quality at Thomas Cook, took over as Tui group director of security, health and safety at the start of November.

He succeeds Thomas Berger, Tui Group audit director who had been acting director for security, health and safety since former group director Sinan Selen left at the beginning of this year.

Jordan worked at Thomas Cook for four years, having joined the group from supermarket group Sainsbury’s where he was national security manager.

He was previously a chief inspector in Essex Police in the UK and also worked for City of London police.

A Tui spokesman said Jordan’s responsibilities include group-wide crisis management.

Jordan will be based at Tui’s Luton office and report to group executive board member and HR and labour director Elke Eller.

Jürgen Wage, Tui director of labour relations in Germany, will be responsible for the group’s occupational health management.
