Exodus goes nuclear with Chernobyl among new tours

Adventure specialist Exodus Travels has eight new tours in its Discovery & Wildlife 2020 brochure, ranging from a long weekend in Chernobyl to a fortnight in Costa Rica.

The Chernobyl & Kiev Long Weekend tour follows the success of HBO’s mini-series about the Chernobyl nuclear plant accident in 1986.

The tour visits the abandoned Exclusion Zone and includes a special permit allowing customers to enter the Nuclear Power Plant to visit the reactor hall and control room.

The three-night trip costs from £899 including flights.

The new Costa Rica Adventure itinerary offers activities such as a zip wire in Monteverde, hiking in Rincon de la Vieja National Park, a night walk in Sarapiqui rainforest and three nights on the Pacific coast.

The 14-night tour costs from £3,149 including flights.

Other new itineraries include the Lapland Wilderness Week, from £1,999 including flights, and the Jordan & Israel Discovery tour from £2,099, for 10 nights, including flights.

Elsewhere, there are new tours in Namibia and neighbouring Botswana; China; Japan and Romania.
