Azamara Pursuit: Travel Weekly editor Lucy Huxley to christen ship

Travel Weekly’s editor-in-chief Lucy Huxley is preparing to christen Azamara Club Cruises’ new vessel, Azamara Pursuit, in her role as the ship’s co-godmother.

Agents and Azamara executives have begun boarding the 777-passenger ship in Southampton.

Huxley will christen Pursuit with co-godmother Ellen Asmodeo-Giglio, executive president of New York based experiential travel magazine, Afar Media.

The pair will bless the ship at around 5pm today.

Azamara Pursuit was acquired from P&O Cruises, where it sailed under the name Adonia, and refurbished.

Pursuit is Azamara’s third ship.

All four of the ship’s first four voyages will call in the UK.
