I'm a freelance writer and photographer specializing in travel,
environmental issues, and international development.
As a journalist, I write for a variety of magazines, newspapers, and online publications, both in the United States and abroad. I write about various aspects of travel but am most passionate about responsible
travel, sustainability, nature/wildlife/ecotourism, philanthropic
travel/voluntourism, and authentic cultural interactions, as well as soft adventure (kayaking, hiking,
camping, etc.). I'm also interested in emerging destinations and the things that make any
destination unique.
As a copywriter, I work with businesses and organizations who want to stand out in a crowd. To attract the attention you deserve, you need to inform, engage, and inspire your target audience. Effective communications is about connecting with people in a way that resonates with their needs, concerns, and interests. At its heart, it's about telling a good story. I help you do this through articles, website content, brochures, reports, and other written products. Simply put, I find the words to show the world who you are and how you are different. My clients include travel and outdoor recreation companies, cultural organizations, nonprofit organizations working on global issues, and businesses that are striving to be sustainable and socially responsible. I am also experienced at working with non-native English speakers who want to reach a broader audience.
