A sound shipping man, Dingle took over the helm of parent company Carnival UK in 2007, after four years as managing director. He was awarded a CBE in this year’s New Year’s Honours list, for services to shipping. He has influenced cruising and the wider industry, including the Passenger Shipping Association and ABTA, during his stint as president.
