Climb to the top of Stromboli and you get the most amazing close-up view of the volcano errupting. The most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life.
Yikes. I walked on White Island, an active (but not too lively) marine volcano off NZ North Island. Like another planet - has these sulphrous streams that dye the ground around them red and yellow.
