World Travel Market is really excited to host its own hub as part of the Travel Weekly Hub network, as it gives us the perfect vehicle to keep you all up to date on the latest WTM 2009 news and information.
World Travel Market, the premier global event for the travel industry, is delighted to this year be celebrating its 30th anniversary.
World Travel Market first opened its doors way back in 1980. Over the past 30 years it has changed venue twice moving from Olympia to Earl’s Court in 1992 before switching to its current home ExCeL - London in 2002.
WTM has grown and expanded beyond recognition over the past three decades as it has established itself as a key event on the global travel and tourism industry calendar.
The 1980 launch event, which was opened by both the Duke of Kent and the then Miss World, was attended by 350 exhibitors and 7,753 trade visitors. While 2008 experienced WTM’s record attendance with almost 50,000 participants attending the event.

This year’s event is poised to be the biggest and best ever with a host of 30th anniversary events scheduled to mark the occasion, so I look forward to seeing you at ExCeL – London between Monday November 9 – Thursday November 12 2009.
