Hi All,

Hope you have enjoyed Corroboree 2011 . We have certainly enjoyed having you with us in Darwin.

There has never been a better time to share your Corrboree 2011 highlights. Plug in your camera and start uploading your pictures - we have a great prize to give away for the agent who uploads the best picture.

With Day 1 of the workshops nearly over at the Convention Centre we are all excited to be welcoming sellers and agents to the NT night at Cullen Bay Marina shortly. THere are some suprises in store for you and of course some great food and drink to enjoy! Lok forward to seeing you there!!

Group 1 in Kakadu

Well I have just got back into Darwin after an amzing 2 days in Kakadu with the Group 1 agents. We climbed Ubirr and cruised Yellow Waters and saw so much incredible wildlife including crocs, birds, wallabies, snakes, dingos and even a long necked turtle crossing the road! The weather has been amazing and both Groups 1 & 2 will be getting together at Mindil Beach tonight for the sunset and some drinks. Corroboree workshops kick off tomorrow - get ready!

Hi everyone

It's a fantastic 29c in Darwin and we are now just an hour or two away from seeing some of you (Group 1) at Darwin airport bright and early this morning! We have a busy day ahead of us but it's going to be so much fun. After a couple of hours r n r at the Darwin Waterfront we'll be off to amazing Kakadu for more adventures. See you soon! Fleur

Evening all from a very warm and sultry Singapore. I'm in transit at Changi airport on my way to Darwin to help out with final preparations before we welcome you all later this week. The Qantas flight from London was fine aboard the A380 though it got a little bumpy at times! Food and service was great as always. Just a couple of hours left before I board my Jetstar flight to Darwin so see you all there very soon! Fleur, Tourism NT

Counting down to Corroboree

Hello all from the Tourism NT office in London! With one week to go until the first groups of agents depart Europe for Darwin I thought it would be a good idea to say 'G'day', introduce the team here and ask you to share a bit about yourselves.

I have worked for Tourism NT for nearly 4 years and look after Consumer Marketing. I'm from the UK and in my 30's (just). I've always worked in tourism and started out as a travel agent too. I've lost count of the times I've been to Australia and the Northern Territory but I still haven't seen it all!

I work with George, who has master minded Corroboree in Darwin. He's Darwin born and bred but has called London home for over 5 years. He's really excited his home city is playing host to you this year. Robert is the third member of our team and he will be down in Darwin with George and myself to give you a true Territory welcome.

We'll be at Darwin airport next week to meet you all and take you off to our stunning waterfont complex for breakfast. Can't wait to meet you all and show you what the NT is all about.

I'd love to hear about all of you so please tell us what you do, where you work, whether you've been to Australia before and what you're most looking forward to about Corroboree 2011.

Let's start off by introducing ourselves - starting with who you are , the company you work for followed by telling fellow agents whether you have been to Darwin before.

I am Lara and I look after the PR for Northern Territory Australia. While I won't be attending Corroboree I will be logging into the hub regularly to see how you are all getting on and checking out your pictures and blogs!

It would be great to know where you work, if you've been to Australia before, what you're most looking forward to about the trip to Darwin and which famil group you're in. Exploring new Territory! Here are some interesting things you might not know about Darwin.

Darwin is closer to Dili, Denpasar, Jakarta and Port Moresby than it is to any Australian capital city.
Darwin has an average of 8.5 hours sunshine a day.
You can ‘swim’ with mighty ‘saltie’ crocs right in the middle of Darwin, if you dare. Don’t worry, it’s behind glass at the Crocosaurus Cove on Mitchell Street!
Contrary to popular belief, Territorians reputedly drink more iced coffee than beer.
Darwin Harbour is twice the size of Sydney Harbour.
More than 50 nationalities make up Darwin’s population of just over 120,000 people.
Darwin has been re-built, twice, almost in its entirety, following the 1942 Bombing of Darwin and Cyclone Tracy in 1974.
The tropical city of Darwin has the youngest population of any of Australia’s capital cities, while Adelaide is home to the highest proportion of aged residents. 23.5 per cent of Darwin [city] residents are aged between 35 and 49 years, followed closely by 25 to 34 years. Compare this to Sydney, where 22.5 per cent of the population is aged 55 years or more.
