I manage a successful Travel & Tourism department at a Further Education College in the West Midlands. Our learners predominantly study BTEC, Aviation and Cabin Crew qualifications. I am looking for ways to enhance our learners knowledge and experieince of the travel industry and my team want to engage them in as many conferences, exhibitions, events, tours and visits as possible. I was wondering if there was anyone on this site who could advise me on useful contacts/companies in the industry who may be willing to be guest speakers at college or recommend ideal events for 16+ learners to attend. Our learners are very interested in Travel & Tourism/Hospitality/Event management and want to pursue degrees at university in these fields. However, they lack the practical understanding of how these industries truly function; this is mainly due to their social upbringing and financial situation. I want to be able to provide opportunities for these learners to explore, broaden their experieinces to enable them to relate more fully to this area of work.
Can anyone help me on this site?
