Having just read Victoria Sanders section in the Travelweekly I almost thought what's the point. Here is someone claiming to be an expert on Travel and Holidays and starts off by saying the UK is to expensive. Quoting a holiday for £100 pounds per person per week based on 8 sharing. Using her own numbers £2000 for a family of 5 All Inclusive with trips out per person.
I would like to see how many Teletext holidays are around for that money (including travel to the airport and airport parking and trips out) in the school holidays?
Victoria went on to say that the UK was over priced and like incentives, she suggested that the UK was missing out by not including more offers in there deals. Mentioning free petrol voucher, M&S hamper or free tickets to a local attraction. So without checking I thought I take up those points. Remember I not look in one brochure and not even opened the internet this is just off the top of my head.
Prices, Victoria indicated you would have to spend at least £800 for a Quality UK family holiday, yet it would not take long with a company like Hoseasons to prove differant.
I feel that some people do not compare like for like and just choose to knock the UK for no reason.
Nick, I completely agree!!
We should be encouraging people to start holidaying in the UK again! When you really look into pricing the UK IS cheaper.
Also, lets face it, how many times have we heard complaints about that 'mucky foreign food' and 'I couldnt get a fry up amywhere'..........
OMG..Dave..we should all Holiday in the UK..because we can find Greasy Joe's, on every street corner. lol.
Lets stay real..the UK is a Rip-Off!! I have have seen 5star! Resorts Abroad during July/Aug for just
£8.per person/per night!! Yes Only £56.00.per Week!! Plus Flights & Transfer's..Would you like A Quote..lol
The Benidorm crowd would love it!!! LOL!!
In all seriousness though, Hoseasons do some really reasonable lodge breaks. They are perfect for quiet weekends/weeks away and are brilliant value for money. Maybe its about priorities on your holiday.....
On having read the article more thoroughly I would just like to add that the comments on All Inclusive holidays are awful.
All Inclusive hotels harm local shop/bar/restuarant owners. It does not promote sustainable tourism. It was the worst thing First Choice could have done for summer 2012, would we want the UK market to adopt this policy?! Of course not!! We would then start seeing emptier high streets in the smaller communities that rely on tourism.
All in all I think the article was not well thought out and certainly not brilliantly researched!
Ya, agree with you........

I agree with Dave on this one...There are some good deals out there for UK breaks and going with Hoeseasons you know you will have a good standard of Accommodation...Also I 100% agree with the comment about First Choice - its the worst thing they could have dont when I used to work for Thomson they were all for "the local community" and all that so now there taking that away from the local resorts!
UK holidays can be great... lets face it the major airports at any time of the year are about as much fun as being nailed to a cross by a load of Italians! The Euro is a rip off of epic proportions, your worried whats in your ice cube in 90% of the places abroad, the only thing going for many places is the sunshine and that gives you cancer.
I stayed at an amazing place in Cornwall recently "Gwel an Mor", and it restored my faith in UK holidays, stunning accommodation, staff that couldn't do enough for you, surrounded on one side by beautiful countryside and the other by views over the ocean, amazing cleanliness, and a restaurant that served brilliant food at less then all my meals cost me in Portugal a few weeks before.
There was also a farm there, we got fresh eggs every day, and got to meet an amazing array of creatures. I have travelled the world and not stayed anywhere better.
It wasnt cheap, a week for 5 people was around £1,200 but thats less then £250 each! where could you go in June for less than that? and we didnt need to hire a car.... we just took our own!
The weather was good and bad, but when it was bad, there was still lots to do. and everyone in Cornwall spoke English, was friendly and drove on the right side of the road!
UK for me in the future!
Thanks for share your great information. really you have great Job dear........i m very appreciated.
Thanks Nickbroadland for share the information. this information provide us to more help....
I'd agree about the late week thing and wouldn't have bothered but as I said they indicated a Friday ship before I ordered. I know I'm just being fussy and impatient, so!?!

Im in the travel weekly again!! Yay!!
Dave you have highlighted a significant point. Its important to enourage tourism in Uk but along with that, positive steps should be implemented to assist in revival of tourism and UK as a whole. All-inclusive packages are not making a positive affect on related sectors of economy.
Its wrong to claim negatively about anything or any place. There are good bargain deals everywhere. You want luxury, that will cost you, if you settle for something moderate you will find it. UK has so much to offer for its visitors, travelling options are so affordable, accomodation options are plenty. You could even get paid guesthouses if you looking for relatively cheaper places to stay at.
The hotels in UK offers varied options to the travelers for the guest rooms. I think that before visiting you must search on the Internet for the various sites that provides the details of the hotels and you can easily choose the best among them.I think it's not right to say like this for a place. If you want more comfort and luxury then definitely you need to pay for that whether you are in any country. It depends on the tips that you follow to make your trip in budget with proper planning.
Advice on Travel Tips for UK
The UK has so much to offer & some great places to visit. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.
The Yorkshire Dales is a favourite of mine with some great accommodation through major agents such as Hoseasons but I stay at Flowery Dell Luxury Lodges which is a quiet family run luxury lodge site near richmond north yorkshire - google it for further details.
Inclusive holidays abroad are great value but have their limitations and are not for me but it would be a boring world if we all thought the same.
I love this :)
I agree that we need to holiday more in the UK but as the weather is so poor over here then sea and sun is a great way to pick yourself up from a cold or wet summer here?
If the weather was better here we would sea thousands of people hitting the coasts on a regular basis but at most we only get a couple of weeks of good weather which isn't great :(

I would feel thankful to be out of that group. They lie, they gossip and are judgmental. Do you live with any of them? I hope not. Focus on making your own life the best it can be and surround yourself with nice and thoughtful persons
