It might not be such a great place to travel from. Ian Taylor, the font of all knowlege when it comes to aviation, says all passengers will have to travel by bus to board the planes. This always adds to boarding time and really annoys passengers who have paid more for 'speedy boarding'!

Impact on fares will be limited I'd have thought, but having said that travellers passing through Gatwick and Heathrow feel like they're being stiffed already. The big question is whether BAA will have to sell off an airport to stay afloat... and whether more competition in the market rather...
