Reading earlier that the former Directors of Monster Travel seem to be planning to open a new business called the Cheap Holidays Company, I am wondering, should ABTA and ATOL refuse to give licences as the FSA is trying to do in order to stop the emergence of phoenix companies within Travel? Or am I being too harsh?
Just read your post and without any thought, NO they should not be allowed licences. Perhaps there should be some form of disqualification period after a failure?
Like I said, not thought about it, this is a quick response and I may even change my mind after I have cogitated over it for a while.
I have created many websites, including for cheap cruises, cruise deals and a new one attacking cruise holidays.
Initially my thoughts are the same, however the full reasons have not come to light as of yet, and full investigation should take place as to the reasons for this collapse before any one makes a judgement. In principle I agree you should not just be able to dump all your debts and start again.
What gets me, is why the Freedom Travel Group did not pick up on this. We're members of another consortium , Global, and they keep a very close eye . Which is good, it protects us, the staff and our clients.
I personally don't mind when a business goes under and the owners go away and take a look at where it went wrong and then have another go. Talking generally, I don't think it is fair when any company owner plans a new company before an existing one fails.
Have to agree with both of you; remember Globespan and the problems with E-Clear? If any company starts project two while project one is failing due to the way they ran it, well in my opinion that is a litle naughty.
The trouble is..these so called companies, would find away round it..they could use Dummies
to front the Company..and simply play..Puppet-teer!! Limited Company's..are very easy to Aquire..
