Royal Mail is having last minute talks today with Communication Workers' Union to try and avoid a two day postal strike tomorrow and Friday.
If they go ahead, will the postal strikes have an impact on you? Do you still send out paper tickets or receive payments by cheque? Will you have to put any alternative measures in place?
Absoloutley - all the time it will effect us hugely.
ROYAL MAIL - do some hard graft! It's an embarressment to our monarchy that they are still called Royal Mail!
Hi QueenBee
do you mean you send out tickets through the mail? what will you do instead?
Hi Hotel Girl
Yes we get tickets through the post, all sorts & we obviously send them on. Our clients are still bery formal & traditional, and like to have something in their hand as opposed an email sent from the tour ops with their itinerary/accommodation vouchers etc.We make our own ticket wallets etc so it isn't all too bad.
However - Email is a godsend!
I remember the strikes in the 80's and ATD (then britdoc) starting. Looks like they will pick up more business again. Royal Mail strikes harm 1 group the most, Royal Mail Workers.
I have not noticed much difference in our area. I get my post almost everyday but no, it won't hurt me as I take the tickets to Customers house if required. It offers a bit of personal touch anyway.
