Writing about the failure of the Allbury Travel Group in a column for Travel Weekly, Chris Photi, partner, White Hart Associates says: "Earlier this week we also saw the demise of Globespan Group. A clear link between the two entities is the role of the credit card clearer E-clear, which also cleared for a variety of other failed operators, amongst them XL, Zoom Flights and Sky Europe."
Bruce Cartwright, who works for the Globespan Group administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers, confirmed the money held by E-Clear was in the region of £30 million.
E-clear is playing a significant part in travel company finances at the moment.
All seems very unclear. I fully support the Scottish First Ministers call for a full investigation, but surely this should be done very quickly, as there is a lot of client money and peoples jobs involved here. !! Surely the court case should be heard a lot earlier than February. If there are problems they should be resolved now, all this uncertainty one way or another is not good for the consumer
