In this week's edition Travel Weekly called for a dedicated minister for travel and tourism. Here's the link to the story.

What do you think? Does the government pay enough attention to our industry? Is it time we had someone at a senior level in government to look after the interests of the sector?

Ps if you do support the campaign, don't forget to sign the petition

Totally sensible idea. Off course we need a minister to co-ordinate all the issues that we presently have.  - just look consumer protection is in a total mess. - are the government just gong to sit back and wait for a major failure.  In bound we need co-ordination around attracting tourists to the UK for major events such as the Commonwealth and Olympic games.

It really is about time the government took this industry's contribution to employment and to the whole economy seriously.

As one of the few countries without one that has tourism as a major Industry we are behind the times. The should be not do we need, but why have we not got a Minister for Travel and Tourism.

If we did have a Minister for Tourism & Travel, I wonder what his expenses would be like?

I have created many websites, including for cheap cruises, cruise deals and a new one attacking cruise holidays.
