Good to see Holiday Which? magazine actually coming out in favour of travel agents. The mag carried out a survey of consumer attitudes and found that most received honest, trustworthy advice and would recommend their agent to friends and family. So what' all the fuss about? if consumers like the service then surely they'll come back for more.

And if any evidence of agent service were required check out this week's Mystery Shopper - a big congrats to Thomas Cook in Skelmersdale

Heartening news, but such a thumbs up is rare compared with the column inches devoted to negative stories about the industry - witness last week's travel agent fraudsters (thankfully now behind bars). The one positive thing about the case was it may serve as a reminder to the public that if an offer sounds to good to be true then it probably is.
Totally agree. Also good to see such a high score in this week's Mystery Shopper
