Yes, I know we should be focusing on the big issues of the BA/Iberia mergers http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/Articles/2010/04/08/33445/ba-and-iberia-merger-goes-ahead.html like what it means for the trade and business etc, but come on, there are far more things to discuss.

On the food front I am alarmed this may lead to goodbye pies, hello paella as BA merges its catering with our Spanish chums. Given how bad the food can be though (I've never got past the horror of the cheese sandwiches on the flights to Scotland that have so little filling, they would make an ASDA shopper cringe) this may not be a bad thing. Also portioning on planes is already suggestive of tapas-style meals anyway...

Re the fashion, I think we can have a total overall with BA stewardesses wearing flamenco dresses, roses in their hair and stamping up and down the aisles. For the men, I would like to see some more flamboyance too and suggest spirit of the Matador could be invoked. I'm thinking the kind of high top trousers that Simon Cowell favours with a little bolero-style jacket to match. All in BA colours of course. Should the two airlines decide this is too much trouble, I think the least we can insist on is sombreros worn by all cabin crew while the captain can refer to himself as El Capitano whenever he addresses the mike.

Other people's thoughts on these vital issues would be very much appreciated.
