Rachel Coffey will step down from her role at The Travel Corporation’s touring brands in the UK and Ireland in May.
Currently sales and business development director for Trafalgar, Costsaver, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, she said she has decided to seek new opportunities.
“The last year has been unprecedented for us all in the travel industry, and at TTC we have been working tirelessly to support our agent partners, customers and our teams, whilst rebuilding consumer confidence to dream and book travel in 2021 and beyond,” she said.
“It has also been a time during which I have reflected on my personal goals and career direction.
“I have been proud to steer the team through this challenging period, but with the vaccine giving us a light at the end of the tunnel, I feel the time is right to make a change.
“I come from a family of public servants and have been humbled by the work that has been undertaken by key workers the world over during this time. It has inspired me to use my skills for a different purpose moving forward.”
Gavin Tollman, global chief executive of Trafalgar and Costsaver, added: “I’d like to personally thank Rachel for her commitment and accomplishments during her time at Trafalgar and Costsaver, continuing to build our award-winning brands in the UK market despite the challenges of the global pandemic. We wish her all the best as she moves on to other opportunities.”
Ulla Hefel Böhler, global chief executive of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, added: “We’re very grateful for Rachel’s enthusiasm, strategy, hard work and good humour, particularly during this challenging year.
“She leaves her team and the Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold brands in a strong position to build on our market share and excellent trade relationships as we emerge from this pandemic. We wish her every continued success.”
She will continue to support the brands and the sales and marketing teams while a succession plan is agreed during her three-month notice period.
Coffey moved to TTC in March 2019 from G Adventures, where she was UK sales director.
