Dylan hotel brings laid back luxury to Dublin

As everyone from the friendly staff to omniscient taxi drivers explain, Dublin is a city that's in a state of change. Trendy bars, restuarants and hotels are popping up everywhere, helping Dublin shake off its scruffy image.

For customers looking to experience this new dynamic Dublin, the Dylan Hotel is perfect. Each of the 44 rooms is individually designed by a charming couple called Eamon and Jacinta Courtney, who treated me and the other press visitors to a tour of the hotel. Each piece has been painstakingly selected, with some items journeying to Dublin from as far as Java.

Although the place is incredibly trendy and stylish, there's none of the pretentiousness you might find in some London boutique hotels.

The friendly and efficient service - as well as the charming black and white city portraits in the rooms - makes sure guests gain a feel of the warmth and tradition that Dublin has to offer.
