The Value-Add Files: Find tweeting museums and galleries with Twellow
April 16, 2009
World Hum has posted a short list of US museums on Twitter.
Never hurts to know what's on where, so why not hop onto user search tool Twellow and find some museums, galleries and other attractions to follow in the destinations you sell (or are planning to visit)?
Below are some sample Twellow search results, starting with a list of tweeting museums in the UK. It was the work of moments...
If you're new to Twitter, make sure you get a good desktop app like Tweetdeck. That way you can group all your attraction feeds together.
Museum + Britain
- British Museum (@britishmuseum)
- Science Museum (@sciencemuseum)
- V&A (@v_and_a)
- Museum of Childhood (@museumchildhood)
- Design Museum (@designmuseum)
- RAF Museum (@rafmuseum)
- The Wallace Collection (@wallacemuseum)
- Horniman Museum (@hornimanmuseum)
- Ragged School (@raggedschool)
Museum + New York
- Brooklyn Museum (@brooklynmuseum)
- MoMa (@museummodernart)
- Whitney Museum (@whitneymuseum)
...plus the whale on the ceiling of the Natural History Museum in New York, which has a baffling 11k followers. Doesn't have much to say about upcoming events though.

That's a great idea for travel agents that are specialists in a particular area / destination.
