Agents honoured at Aspire awards

Four agents have been recognised for their hard work and dedication to the luxury travel sector at this year’s Aspire Awards.

The awards, part of the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards, rewards Aspire agent members who have continually grown their luxury sales and shown ambition to learn more about the sector.

The AAAs are the biggest celebration of the travel trade in the UK, with 850 people attending this year’s ceremony. The Aspire section of the evening was sponsored by Celebrity Cruises for the second year running.

Designer Travel’s Kay Frankland picked up the Aspire Extra Mile Award, while her colleague Angela Mayall won Aspire Homeworker of the Year.

Triangle Travel was crowned Aspire Independent Agency of the Year and Tricia Conroy Smith, from Off Broadway Travel, was named Aspire Agent of the Year.

The winners were announced at the glittering ceremony in London last night

Hollie-Rae Brader, editor of Aspire, said: “We had a huge number of entries this year and the standard was exceptionally high. Creating short lists in each of the four categories was a tough task because the quality was outstanding this year.

“I’m always astounded by just how amazing Aspire agent members are. They are the cream of the crop in the travel industry and it’s only right we recognise their achievements.

“I was delighted to present the four awards to our very deserving winners.

“A huge thank you to our panel of judges for giving up time to assist with the awards process. Thanks to Paul Melinis of Insight Vacations, Paul Cleary of Caribtours and Bhav Taylor from our awards sponsor Celebrity Cruises.”
