Thomas Cook launches booking platform for independent agents ahead of peaks

Thomas Cook has launched a new web based booking platform to support independent agents ahead of peak season.

Thomas Cook Trade, which extends to all Thomas Cook brands, includes TripAdvisor reviews and video tours for selected hotels, an image gallery, software to produce tailor-made window cards and an emphasis on extras like room.

We training portal The Thomas Cook Training Academy is next, and will launch on December 15 and focus on four key modules for Thomas Cook exclusive product.

Cook’s head of trade partnerships Audrey Brooks-Wiggins said: “We have received a fantastic response to Thomas Cook Trade so far. Along with our other initiatives, it demonstrates our long term commitment and the investment we are making to work successfully with our trade partners. We have spent time speaking to all of our partners to understand how they would like to work with us.

“We are conscious that one size does not fit all and that we need to be flexible.”

Thomas Cook has increased its sales team ahead of peaks, with staff due out on the road visiting key agents in January.

Meanwhile, trade partner self-service support portal Thomas Cook World has been re-launched with a new look intended to make it easier for agents to interact with the company. It includes up-to-date special offers, product information and details on educationals and incentives, as well as an online chat facility.
