Jet2 parent Dart Group reports revenue and profit boost

Revenue for the company behind Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays has increased by 21% while profits have grown by 12%.

Dart Group plc’s half year results were announced at the Jet2 Holidays conference in Paphos, Cyprus, on Friday.

Its revenue from April to October this year was £1,240,800,000, up from £1,024,000,000 while pre-tax profits rose from £146,800,000 to £163,700,000.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We’ve had strong, healthy profits, are financially sound and growing.”

Reaching out to the trade, he added that the percentage of sales through Jet2 Holidays had increased compared to sales on Jet2.com.

Jet2 Holidays now makes up 49% of sales, up from 40% last year and 10% in 2011/12.

It follows last month’s announcement that Jet2’s Atol licence has been expanded by 45% allowing it to carry up to 2.3 million passengers in the 12 months up to September 30 next year.

Jet2 now has 67 destinations, with 296 routes across 20 countries.
