Texas musicians to ‘take over’ London venues

Musicians from Texas are to perform across London over the next week as the state ‘takes over’ the capital’s music scene.

The Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau will be the ‘presenting sponsor’ of the seven-day series, with Fort Worth musicians including Luke Wade, Joey Green and Austin Allsup among the 11-strong line-up.

The CVB believes the series will provide an opportunity to showcase Fort Worth in the UK, which is the number one overseas source market for a destination known as ‘The City of Cowboys and Culture’.

Mitch Whitten, Fort Worth CVB vice-president of marketing and tourism, said: “There’s strong interest in the Fort Worth story. Music is an important part of the city’s vibe. We are excited for the opportunity to support Fort Worth talent while promoting our city as a world-class destination.”

All Texas Music Takeover venues will include Visit Fort Worth branding and giveaways, including a draw for UK residents to win a trip for two to the city hosted by Wade.

Other promotional efforts include radio and social media promotion PR opportunities including Wade busking at various tube stations.

The full concert schedule and details of participating musicians can be found at texasmusictakeover.co.uk.
