Cosmos Tours & Cruises reports 60% Australasia cruise growth

Cruise is driving a claimed 60% growth across Cosmos Tours & Cruises Australasia programme for 2016/17.

The operator declined to give actual figures to support the percentage increase in bookings since the introduction of the programme in December last year.

However, head of sales Janet Parton revealed that new tours were planned.

She said: “We are delighted to see that despite economic uncertainties this year, our customers are still wanting to invest in a high value ‘trip of a life time’.

“The excitement of travelling to Australia and New Zealand is definitely a ‘bucket list’ destination for most.

“Sixty-five per cent of customers booking our ‘Highlights of Australia’ tour want to extend their stay, with a cruise around New Zealand with Princess Cruises. This combination of a land-based tour with a cruise is the perfect way to experience this incredible continent.”

Parton added: “To meet this demand, we have plans to expand our choice of touring products in the region, with a new tour of southern Australia and a combined tour of both Australia and New Zealand.

“Three-night city stopovers in Singapore or Bangkok will also be an option for any customers booking an Australasia holiday.”

Agents will receive £20 Love2shop vouchers for bookings made before October 31.

A 28-day ‘Highlights of Australia & New Zealand Cruise’ leads in at £5,415 per person including return flights, 12 nights hotel accommodation, the services of a tour director, 13 nights full board cruise accommodation, a range of guided sightseeing and airport transfers.
