Norwegian starts selling £149 fares to the US for summer 2017

Transatlantic flights starting at £149 one-way next summer have been put on sale by budget carrier Norwegian.

A total of 360,000 seats have been made available from Gatwick as the airline continues to introduce new Boeing 787 Dreamliners to its fleet.

The £149 economy single fare is to Boston, with premium cabin rates leading in at £449.

New York, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando start at £179 in economy and £579 in premium.

Oakland San Francisco and Los Angeles start at £199 economy class. Premium rates are from £579 to Oakland and £499 to Los Angeles.

Chief commercial officer Thomas Ramdahl said: “We’re releasing sizzling fares for next year’s summer programme as low-cost long-haul travel continues to take-off.

“With more state-of-the art 787 Dreamliners joining our fleet, UK passengers have more options to travel in fresh aircraft without breaking the bank.

“As we continue our UK expansion, consumers can expect to see more of Norwegian as we’re making it easier to travel in comfort with affordable fares to the top US destinations.”

The airline starts winter-only flights from Gatwick to Las Vegas on October 31 and resumes a Puerto Rico service on November 2.
