Ethiopian Airlines is to be the first airline from Africa to deploy the new generation Airbus A350 XWB from Heathrow.

The aircraft will operate the airline’s daily service between London and Addis Ababa from Sunday (August 14).

The A350 will have a two-class configuration with 30 seats in business class and 313 in economy. The aircraft is the first of 14 on order by the airline.

Ethiopian Airlines UK country manager, Michael Yared, said: “We are proud to be the only airline in Africa operating the ultra-modern Airbus A350.

“Equally, myself and the team in UK are excited to have the brand new A350 aircraft on the route to meet the increased demand and look forward to showcasing the product to our valued customers, industry colleagues and partners.”
