Carnival Corp announces tie-up with Airbnb

People in the US who sign up to become a host with Airbnb will receive a $250 credit for a Fathom cruise to the Dominican Republic or Cuba.

The new Carnival Corporation social impact cruise brand, which uses converted P&O Cruises’ ship Adonia for the sailings from Miami, disclosed the tie-in with the accommodation sharing site late on Friday.

The partnership aims to provide a for a “give and get” opportunity for new Airbnb hosts in the US.

Fathom president Tara Russell said: “We love that Airbnb offers a marketplace of unforgettable experiences curated by their host community all over the world.

“In many ways, we share that same passion and deliver new memories.

“Today’s consumers want to have unique, immersive experiences, and I’m excited that we can now creatively make this possible even further through this natural partnership.”

Prices for seven-day trips to the Dominican Republic currently start at $499 per person cruise-only and $1,899 to Cuba, including shore-based activities.
