Wizz Air reports passenger numbers boost

Budget carrier Wizz Air saw a jump in passenger carryings last month as it launched nine new routes.

The number of passengers using the eastern and central European airline rose by 16.2% to 2.2 million in July compared with the same month last year.

This came as capacity increased by a similar percentage to 2.4 million seats.

The load factor remained the same at 92.7%.

This came as the fleet increased to 71 aircraft with the delivery of a new Airbus A321neo.

New routes were introduced from six countries in addition to the opening of a six base in Romania.
