Four injured in attack at Shanghai airport

Four people were injured when a man threw a bottle packed with home-made explosive near a check-in at Pudong airport in Shanghai yesterday.

Secutiry forces said the attacker pulled the bottle from a backpack and detonated it in Terminal 2 before taking out a knife and slashing his own neck.

The assailant was reported to be in serious condition in a Shanghai hospital.

No flights were affected at China’s second-largest airport. The four victims suffered light injuries

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: “If planning to travel through the airport, check flight details before making your way to Pudong.”
