Spear Travels has acquired the Broads Travel Group in the Midlands for an undisclosed sum.
The move brings the number of shops owned by the miniple to 13.
All 16 staff at Broads Travel will be retained. The group has two shops in Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield, and a separate business travel centre, none of which will be rebranded as Spear Travels.
The deal should complete on Monday, May 23.
Cookson said: “All staff will be retained, investment will be provided, and we will continue to operate the shops and the business travel centre under the Broads Travel banner and they will not be rebranded as Spear Travels on this occasion: they will just be part of the Spear Travels Group as a whole.”
Spear, which has acquired a number of agencies including Tickets Anywhere last January as part of planned expansion strategy, now has 15 trading divisions including its Associates homeworking division and 13 shops.
