Cruise 1st seeks new recruits after profits rise

Former Royal Caribbean-owned cruise agency Cruise 1st is seeking to recruit 25 new sales consultants six months after a management buyout.

The Manchester-based company also wants to appoint an online commercial manager to drive increased sales via the internet.

The new recruits are being sought following a 40% increase in staffing in the 2015-6 financial year which saw the company achieve a claimed £1 million profit for the first time.

The uplift was mainly driven by UK sales, although offices in Australia and Singapore also produced positive results, according to the company.

The new vacancies are for office-based roles are in Salford Quays, Manchester, while applicants with relevant experience will be considered for home-working positions.

Chief executive, Dan Townsley, said: “We are confident that the new ownership will allow the business to grow and succeed, supported by our ability to be nimble and expand into new product ranges with more cruise lines.”
