Queues form outside STA Travel two days before £49 fares go on sale

Holidaymakers keen to snap up £49 return flights to Thailand have already started queuing outside STA Travel in London – two days before tickets go on sale.

The company is offering 49 return flight tickets to Bangkok with Qatar Airways for £49 in flash sale events at two of its branches: one in London and one in Birmingham, this Thursday, April 28.

The 98 tickets go on sale at STA Travel in Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria, London, and at its Corporation Street store in Birmingham. The fares are only available in person when the stores open at 9am on Thursday and only one £49 return fare can be bought per person.

Travellers began queuing outside the London branch on Tuesday and faced the prospect of spending two nights camped outside the store in frosty weather conditions, with temperatures due to drop to 4’C on Tuesday night.

After the tickets have been snapped up, the company will offer a further 49 return tickets at the exclusive price of £299 in both stores, available for a deposit of £49.

The agency has accommodation offers in Thailand such as 50% off selected properties. Prices start from £23 per person for three nights in Bangkok and £95 for seven nights in Koh Samui.

STA Travel held a similar flash sale last year, offering flights to New Zealand for £75. Customers also began queuing two nights before tickets went on sale.
