Princess Cruises sees uplift in queries following TV show success

Princess Cruises has had double its usual amount of brochure requests following the success of primetime TV show ‘The Cruise’.

The six-part show, aired on ITV, finished last week, and Princess Cruises UK boss Tony Roberts said the line had seen significant interest in potential new customers.

“The Cruise has been a great success for us, the response we have had from consumers and from agents has been brilliant,” he said.

“Agents have told us that they’ve seen an uplift in customers wanting to enquire about Princess and in particular Regal Princess, the ship the show was filmed on.

“We’ve also seen a notable increase in new people visiting our website, in fact the sessions on our website over the past six weeks has been three times more than usual.

“We’ve also seen the number of brochure requests double.”

Roberts said he believed the show would result in an uplift for the entire industry, not just his brand. He claimed all of the Carnival UK brands had seen a surge in interest off the back of the show.

“The important thing now is that we keep this momentum going,” Roberts said. “We’re putting a significant investment in our agent training and we want to keep building on our successes.

“We had a brilliant wave and a brilliant March and we’re in a very good place for 2016 and 2017 bookings.”
