Cosmos Tours appoints Calver and broadens trade sales strategy

Kelly Calver (pictured) is moving from the Fred Olsen Group to become trade sales manager at touring and cruising specialist Cosmos Tours.

The appointment comes as the firm broadened its trade sales strategy to include Northern Ireland.

Calver, who will cover the south of England, joins trade sales manager Sarah Ashmore and national account manager Paul Sharp, who report to product, commercial and sales director, Michael Vinales.

Ashmore changes her remit from the south to the Midlands, Wales and Northern Ireland, while Sharp continues to focus on agents based in the north of England as well as oversee the company’s trade sales strategy.

The team will be supported by new office-based trade sales executive James Mortimer.

The expanded team will develop the company’s commercial trade strategy to include Northern Ireland and provide trade partners with a fully flexible worldwide touring and cruising programme, product training and favourable commercial terms.

This applies to both Cosmos Tours & Cruises and river cruise line, Avalon Waterways.

Vinales said: “We are delighted to welcome Kelly who brings vital experience of our specialist sector of the industry as we enter a growth period to gain market share, broaden our programme and ensure speed to market of new and exciting touring and cruise products.

He added: “This is an exciting time for the business as we are in a position to develop our partnership strategy and work far closer with agents to highlight our flexibility and ever-increasing breadth of product.

“We look forward to developing key relationships with trade partners in Northern Ireland.”
