Darrington leaves Kuoni for Funway Holidays

Kuoni’s head of trade sales Amanda Darrington is leaving the business to join Funway Holidays.

Darrington will start at Funway in the newly created position of sales director on March 14 and will be responsible for raising the profile of the brand in the UK market. Reporting into managing director Stephen Rhodes, Darrington will also be responsible for growing business through the trade.

She joined Kuoni seven years ago and has been central to growing the company’s partnership programme.

Kuoni’s managing director Derek Jones said: “We wish Amanda all the best, this is a fantastic opportunity for her and I am sure it’s a role she will thrive in.  Our partnership programme is something we are extremely proud of and will continue to invest in.”

“Amanda has built a strong team, so our trade partners will have continuity with people they know and trust and will continue to get the same great service from us.”

Darrington said:  “I’ve had seven awesome years at Kuoni UK but it felt the right time to move on and further my career with a fast-growing company where I can use my skills to make a real difference.

“I’m proud of all we’ve achieved with the partner strategy at Kuoni and I leave a fantastic team who will continue to drive it forward.

“My ambition for Funway is to convey the expertise the team have for travelling to the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.  Moving forward it’s important we build relationships to ensure our agent partners utilise that knowledge when finding their customer’s ideal holiday.”

Stephen Rhodes, managing director, Funway Holidays said: "I am delighted to welcome Amanda on board to join us at such an exciting time for Funway Holidays.

“She comes with a wealth of experience, drive and exceptional communication skills which will continue the strong growth we have achieved over the last few years.

“Funway strives to provide the best customer service and prices to our travel agent partners and with Amanda joining us we can continue to build stronger relationships with our current and new travel agent partners. We look forward to welcoming Amanda to the UK’s leading independent USA, Mexico and Caribbean specialist in March.”
