Celestyal Crystal has balconies added ahead of Cuba season

A series of 43 balconies have been added to cabins on Celestyal Cruises’ ship Celestyal Crystal ahead of a winter season in Cuba.


The balconies were installed over 20 days in dry dock in the Athens port of Piraeus in tandem with other upgrades and the completion of technical maintenance.


The work saw 26 balconies added to cabins on Deck 6 and 17 new balconies were added to cabins on Deck 7. Eight of the ship’s existing balconies were also refurbished and extended.


Celestyal Cruises has spent €20 million on upgrades cross its fleet this year.


All cabins and the public spaces on the new Celestyal Nefeli will be decorated ahead of its first sailing with in May 2016.


Overall passenger numbers have risen by 20% this over 2014 to 129,731.


The line’s chief executive, Kyriakos Anastassiadis, said: “These balconies are part of an extensive refurbishment programme to continually elevate the quality of our brand and to ensure we are delivering a positive passenger experience on all of our vessels.


“We hired expert Greek shipbuilders in Piraeus to complete the necessary work on the Crystal, and the level of craftsmanship is further proof of the quality of maritime construction available in our country.”?
