Thomas Cook head of long-haul product Matt Appleby (pictured) is joining the dnata Travel UK management team.
He has been appointed to the newly-created role of product and commercial director for Travel 2 and Gold Medal and is due to join in November.
Appleby was previously head of product for Thomas Cook Scheduled Businesses, which included the Gold Medal and Netflights brands.
He joins Gordon McCreadie, B2B sales and marketing director, and Lisa Smith, B2B operations director, supporting managing director Andy Freeth across both brands.
Colin Birchenough, current general manager, ground product at Gold Medal Travel Group, is moving internally to become operations director, central accommodation services, based in Dubai.
Freeth said: “With a new leadership team in place designed to maximise the phenomenal talent of the Gold Medal and Travel 2 families, Matt joins the team at a very exciting time.
“I look forward to working alongside him and am confident that with his exceptional experience working with high profile brands that he’ll be key to us in delivering dnata’s ambitious growth plans. We are all excited about him joining the team.”
