The first ‘New to Cruise Summit’ for travel agents who do not yet sell cruise holidays is to be held by Clia UK & Ireland.
The event will take place in London on September 15 and is open to both Clia and non-Clia members.
The summit will be run in association with Puerto Rico Tourism and member cruise lines.
Agents will be given a mix of training in cruise sales techniques, current industry trends, product training and how to capitalise on the resources available to reach new customers.
A key element of the day is providing help and support on how to convert yet to cruise holidaymakers as they are likely to become loyal cruise customers of the future, according to Clia.
UK & Ireland director, Andy Harmer, said: “There are many travel agents who are keen to grow their cruise sales and our New to Cruise Summit will tackle head on some of the ways in which we can all grow our cruise sales using some to understand steps.
“The event will include workshops covering cruise products that are particularly designed to appeal to yet to cruise customers together with key trends within cruise that travel agents can use to maximise their sales.”
