The Group Travel Organisers Association’s (GTOA) annual showcase weekend has been confirmed for the northeast of England.
The event is to take place at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel Gosforth Park on September 18-20.
The showcase brings together group organisers and associate members from across the UK to participate in business and social sessions.
The programme includes branch AGMs, networking activity, a ‘meet the board and CEO’ session and a visit on board Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ ship Boudicca.
Other highlights include a choice of five familiarisation trips to local attractions, including Hadrian’s Wall, Durham Cathedral, Alnwick Gardens, Lindisfarne and Beamish Industrial Museum.
Chief executive, Mike Bugsgang, said: “The showcase provides a great opportunity for our members to get together to plan their itineraries for 2016 and beyond, as well as experiencing a part of Britain that is generally under utilised by groups.
“Initial reaction to the showcase weekend has been positively received by GTOA members and we are expecting a bumper attendance for this important event in the group organisers’ calendar.”
