Dukes brand heads for Dubai

The first international property from the Dukes Collection brand is to open on Palm Jumeirah. 

Dukes Oceana, Dubai Hotel and Residences will be sibling to the brand’s flagship hotel Dukes London.

The hotel will be on the trunk of the palm, 10 minutes from Dubai Marina and 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport.

The plan is to add a distinctly English flavour to the city.

Aspire caught up with Dukes managing director Deborah Dhugga to find out more.

What stage of construction is the property at?
The building structure and exterior is complete, we are at shell and core stage and have appointed our design contractors.

How many floors does the hotel have?
Dukes Dubai will have 15 floors, including our Asian rooftop restaurant.

What are the different room types and sizes?
Our leading rooms start from a Dukes room up to our fabulous Penthouse. Room sizes start from 22sqm to over 111sqm with their own private balcony overlooking the Palm; we have 8 different room categories.

What facilities/amenities are offered in the room?
Stunning soft furnishings that breeze a classic style, our room features include an interactive flat screen TV, large writing desk, in-room safe, marble en-suite bathroom, organic toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and self-controlled air-conditioning.

What facilities/amenities are offered in the hotel?
An outdoor infinity pool and private beach access.

What is the target market?
From the high end leisure traveller to the corporate client on business, whether you choose to stay in one of our modern and classic style bedrooms or deluxe suites, unwind in the legendary Dukes Bar, savour the food of The Great British Restaurant, or embrace true English chic with Champagne afternoon tea in our champagne lounge. In terms of design, how does this property resemble or differ from Dukes London?
As per our sister hotel Dukes Dubai will offer British charm and cosmopolitan luxury, a timeless and hospitable atmosphere that will make you feel as if you never left home.

Are there any brand signature services/touches that define the hotel's service ethos?
The hotel will have a passion and commitment to service, Dukes bar will offer the best Martinis in town, with our afternoon tea terrace, cigar and coffee lounge will be the place to be from mid-afternoon to early evening.
