Etihad Airways has launched a new global advertising campaign under the banner ‘Flying Reimagined’.
The launch event was held at the airline’s home base of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, on March 13th.
Centrepiece of the campaign is a television commercial featuring academy award winning actress Nicole Kidman, who narrates and stars in the advert.
James Hogan, CEO of Etihad, said “2015 sees a step change (for the airline) with the introduction of the A380 and 787, new livery and new uniforms, making it the right time for a new campaign”.
The advert was filmed by husband and wife team Anthony Atanasio and Valarie Martinez, who have worked on ads for Audi, Levis and Nike, and features Ms Kidman on board Etihad’s flagship A380 aircraft. She is seen relaxing in The Lobby (a premium cabin lounge/bar), watching TV in a First Apartment and falling back into a double bed in the three-room ‘Residence’.
Other locations include the 17th Century Strahov Library in Prague, the Vieux Port Pavilion and Vile Mediterranee in Marseilles, and several Abu Dhabi landmarks – including a digitally created interior shot of the soon to be opened Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The featured A380 aircraft is the first to be delivered of 10. It currently flies the London Heathrow route, with additional aircraft due to serve Sydney from June 1st.
It is fitted with The Residence, First Apartments, Business Studios, and a new economy Smart Seat product, which has a side headrest ‘Wingrest’, the same touch screen Panasonic IFE offering as the premium cabins, and noise cancelling headphones.
