n holiday inn launches new global logo

Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts have launched a new global umbrella logo to represent its brands.

The new logo has been adapted from the old one, but the star burst has been taken out. The logo will encompass Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Garden Court, Holiday Inn Resort and for the Americas region Holiday Inn Select and Holiday Inn Hotels and Suites. The words hotels and resorts has been added. Thetypeface has also been altered.

n thistle offers special meetings rates

Thistle Hotels is now offering special rates for business meetings that are booked throughout the months of July and August. Valid for any day of the week, day delegate rates start at £20 at the Thistle Cardiff and all daily rates include hire of a meeting room from 8am to 5pm, along with refreshments, lunch and standard meeting equipment. London daily delegate rates start at £30.

n hilton appoints new uk director of sales

Hilton has appointed Alexandre Carvalho as director of sales operations for the UK. His previous position was as Hilton's area director of sales and marketing for the Mediterranean. Carvalho replaces Danny Hughes who has been promoted to the position of vice-president of sales for the Americas.

n gleneagles offers guests virtual tours

Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland is now offering its prospective guests the chance to take a virtual guided tour of the property at its Internet site, www.gleneagles.com. When they log on to the site, visitors are able to check out the panoramic views of the hotel or alternatively shop at the hotel's arcade.
