CARNIVAL Cruise Lines has become involved in a legal dispute over using the word "fun" to describe a cruising experience. It is suing SeaEscape Casino Cruises over a slogan saying "a ship full of fun."
Carnival says that infringes on its trademark slogan "The Fun Ships". SeaEscape has now revised the radio ad to bleep out the word. It now goes: "Come on and SeaEscape to a ship full of [bleep]." A voice then says "There's nothing wrong with your radio, but Carnival Cruise Lines is saying that we can't say SeaEscape is a ship full of the F-U-N word."
Carnival is not amused. A court hearing is scheduled for next month.
